Ryan Laney (b. 1989) is a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic concert music, musical theatre, and music for film based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His works have been presented in the United States at conferences such as the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, the SEAMUS national conference, and Electronic Music Midwest, and abroad at the Matera Intermedia Festival in Italy. Ryan was recently awarded a residency at Millikin University for his new musical, Pirandello.

Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in physics from the College of William & Mary and is currently pursuing his doctorate in composition at the University of Texas at Austin. His teachers have included Burton Hatheway, Greg Bowers, Yevgeniy Sharlat, and Russell Pinkston.
